“There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.”
Galatians 3:28–29 (NLT)
If we belong to Jesus, then we belong to Jesus. It really should be that simple. When we cling to identities or divisions that separate us, how does that help the body of Christ—or point others to Him? This may feel like a “touchy” subject, but it deserves our attention.
Notice how Paul connects unity in Christ with the inheritance of Abraham’s blessing. Unity isn’t just a nice idea—it could be the very reason some of us are missing out on the fullness of God’s promises. Abraham wasn’t promised just one thing. He was promised land, legacy, blessing, and salvation—all received through faith.
Think about it: in the natural, an inheritance would be hard to receive if family members built walls between one another. The same is true in God’s family. We cannot block others out and expect to enjoy the fullness of what God has given us.
Unity matters. Faith matters. Let’s not neglect either one, because together they open the door for us to walk in the blessing God promised.
