More Than Enough

“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)

As a CFO, I’ve often studied this chapter through the lens of money. But today, I see it with fresh eyes. Paul isn’t only talking about finances—he’s painting a picture of God’s abundant character. The Greek word autarkeia here describes a state of being fully supplied, independent, lacking nothing. That’s what God promises: not a bare-minimum survival, but overflow.

This overflow isn’t meant to stop with us. Verse 11 echoes the same truth: “Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous.” God gives more than enough peace, strength, grace, and kindness. What He pours into us, He expects us to pour out. And when we give, the ultimate result is not just blessing others, but thanksgiving and praise rising back to God.

Generosity flows from a mindset that what we have isn’t ours to begin with—it’s God’s. That’s why we can give cheerfully. Whether it’s money, forgiveness, kindness, or patience, giving never leaves us with less. God replenishes and multiplies. He transforms giving into gain.

So give what God gave you. Release it freely, whether it’s resources, compassion, or encouragement. Then watch how He increases it and uses it to bring glory to Himself. There is no cost in His kingdom economy—only abundance.
