I Follow the Way

“But I admit that I follow the Way, which they call a cult. I worship the God of our ancestors, and I firmly believe the Jewish law and everything written in the prophets.”

‭‭Acts ‭24‬:‭14‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

Paul stood accused, but he did not try to hide what mattered most. He denied the false charges, but he confessed the truth: “I follow the Way.” The Jews used that phrase like an insult, but Paul wore it without shame. He worshiped the same God of their ancestors and believed the same Scriptures, but his faith was in Jesus, the Anointed One those Scriptures were pointing to all along.

That is the difference. Paul and the Jews were working from the same book, but they had a different walk. The Jews’ hope was in God, but their faith was still tangled in religion, rules, and regulations. Paul’s faith was in Jesus, who fulfilled the law, paid the price for sin, and opened the way back into the presence of God. Through Jesus, we do not stand outside the veil anymore. We can come near, into the Most Holy Place.

Hebrews 10 says Jesus gave us a new, life-giving way through His blood. Our evil consciences, our minds, our motives, and the unholiness in our thoughts have been sprinkled clean by Christ’s sacrifice. That means Jesus did not just forgive us from a distance. He made a way for us to live close to God with a clean conscience, not puffed up in pride, and not buried under the enemy’s accusations.

So like Paul, I want to admit it without shame: I follow Jesus. I am part of the Way. If Jesus has cleansed me, opened the veil, and brought me near to the Father, then my reasonable service is to keep walking with Him as a living sacrifice. Will you admit publicly today that you follow the Way? Will you embrace Him completely? Will you walk on His path and maintain a clear conscience before Him?
