“God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.”
1 Corinthians 1:30 (NLT)
In a world that worships cleverness and achievement, the gospel seems too simple for some—and that’s the point. Paul says the message of the cross is foolishness to those who rely on worldly wisdom, but to those who believe, it is the very power of God.
Jesus didn’t call the smartest, strongest, or most successful. He called those who were willing. And through the cross, God united us with Christ—not so we could boast in ourselves, but so we could boast in Him.
You don’t have to earn purity or holiness. You don’t have to manufacture strength or wisdom. Jesus is your wisdom. He is your holiness. He is your freedom. Everything you need is found in union with Him.
So stop striving. Stop comparing. Stop trying to be “enough.” You already are—because of Christ.
Jesus doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the called.
