Strength at Sunrise

“Every day Jesus went to the Temple to teach…The crowds gathered at the Temple early each morning to hear him.”

Luke 21:37–38 (NLT)

Jesus laid out some sobering realities: deception, betrayal, persecution, and cosmic chaos. He said we’d be hated for following Him. Family and friends might turn on us. But He also promised: by standing firm, we will win our souls. And when we’re on trial, the Holy Spirit will give us the words to speak.

These trials aren’t just struggles—they’re opportunities to testify.

But the only way to endure persecution and speak with boldness is to stay close to Jesus. In verse 38, the people came early each morning to hear Him. They didn’t run away after hearing hard truth—they ran toward Him. We should do the same.

We wake up early for a lot of things—jobs, workouts, vacations. But what about for the One who’s coming in power and glory—Jesus Christ? If we want strength to stand, we must seek God first. There is strength at sunrise. Get up early and sit at His feet. Let His Word and His Spirit prepare you for whatever comes.
