“Jesus said, ‘All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you.’”
Luke 18:42 (NLT)
The blind beggar in Luke 18 didn’t just ask once—he kept shouting until Jesus heard him. When people told him to stop, he shouted even louder. His persistence was a living example of the parable Jesus had just taught: that God will give justice to His chosen people who cry out to Him day and night—and He will do it quickly (v. 7–8).
The beggar’s bold cry revealed his faith. He didn’t whine or beg hopelessly—he believed Jesus could help and asked with urgency, boldness, and desire. Faith doesn’t shrink back when the world says “be quiet” or “God can’t do that.” Faith keeps shouting.
And when Jesus got close, the beggar made his request, received his sight by faith, and immediately praised the Lord.
So when you hear about Jesus, do you stop what you’re doing and start shouting? Will you ignore every voice that tries to quiet your cry? God responds quickly to faith that is persistent, bold, and expectant.
