“Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”
Luke 9:2 (NLT)
Jesus didn’t just send His disciples to preach—He sent them to demonstrate. Luke 9:2 says they were sent to tell EVERYONE about the Kingdom of God and to HEAL the sick. One verse earlier, He gave them power and authority over all demons and diseases. There was nothing they weren’t empowered to do through the Kingdom—and neither are we.
This is the biblical version of “show and tell.” When we share the good news, we’re not just announcing an idea—we must offer evidence. That might look like peace and joy through the Holy Spirit. It might look like provision when we should’ve lacked. Or it might look like healing—just like the disciples experienced.
We’ve been given the same authority. So don’t just say you’ll pray—pray right then. Lay hands on the sick. Speak life. And don’t keep your testimony quiet. When you share what God has done, it builds faith in someone else to believe for their breakthrough.
Jesus said, “Let your good deeds shine out for all to see…” (Matthew 5:16 NLT). The world needs more than words—they need to see what the Kingdom of God really looks like.
So don’t just tell people what Jesus can do. Show them.
