“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”
Ephesians 3:16–17 (NLT)
God has unlimited resources. He brings them to us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit creates strength in us.
God isn’t like man. He isn’t holding back some of His resources for Himself. He is unlimited, remember? He wants us to have access to His kind of strength!
The Holy Spirit helps us trust in God—through comfort, direction, peace, and vision. Trust allows Christ to dwell in our hearts. He makes it His home.
The God of the universe doesn’t just know you by name, or the number of hairs on your head, or design every step of your life for His purposes. GOD WANTS TO LIVE INSIDE OF YOU! Think about that. He can live anywhere, yet He wants to make your body a living temple (1 Corinthians 6:19–20, NLT).
As Christ dwells in us, our roots grow into love. Roots bring strength. Roots keep the tree from falling in a storm. But roots also help a tree become vibrant. Are you rooted in Christ today, or something else? It greatly affects your strength.
