Peace that Rules

“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”

Colossians 3:15 (NLT)

There are a lot of ways to find worldly peace. But Paul says there is a kind of peace that comes from Christ. Let’s look at the differences.

  1. Christ’s peace remains even in chaos. It’s an inner calm that isn’t shaken by external trouble.
  2. Christ’s peace flows from being made right with God. It’s peace that begins with forgiveness, grace, and new life.
  3. Christ’s peace breaks down walls and makes us one body—the Church—marked by love, humility, and mutual honor.
  4. Christ’s peace guides decisions, calms fear, and overrules anxiety.

The world will tell you that peace is the absence of problems. We get “peace” when we go on vacation. We get “peace” when we become financially secure. We get “peace” when our mind is at rest.

The peace of Christ is NOT the absence of problems—it’s the presence of a Person. JESUS CHRIST! HIS peace is deep, lasting, and supernatural, because it comes from being made whole in Him.

We must allow Christ’s peace to RULE in our hearts. Let Christ drown out the noise. As long as we seek worldly peace we won’t have any peace.
