See Like Jesus

“And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”

1 Corinthians 2:12 (NLT)

When Paul came to Corinth, he didn’t use big words or fancy arguments. He didn’t try to impress anyone. He focused on one thing—Jesus Christ and Him crucified. But as he continues this chapter, he takes us deeper: the reason he could speak with such power and clarity wasn’t his talent—it was the Holy Spirit.

Paul says the Spirit reveals things that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined. And then he says something staggering: we’ve received the Holy Spirit.

Not a substitute. Not a watered-down version. God’s very own Spirit lives in us. And through the Holy Spirit, we gain access to how God sees. We begin to understand His heart, His thoughts, His gifts—and most of all, His Son.

This is how our minds are renewed. Romans 12:2 says we’re transformed by the renewing of our minds—and this is how it happens. The Holy Spirit shapes our thinking, making us more like Christ. That’s why Paul ends the chapter by saying: “We have the mind of Christ.”

If you’ve placed your faith in Jesus, you’re not walking through this life in the dark. You’ve been given the Holy Spirit. Let Him teach you. Let Him open your eyes. Let Him help you see like Jesus.
