“Get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitation. Don’t worry, for I have sent them.””
Acts 10:20 (NLT)
Peter had just seen the vision three times, and the moment it ended he was left perplexed. He’s standing there wondering, Lord, what are you talking about? What do You want me to do? How should I proceed? And right in that confusion, the answer to his question shows up at the door.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t hand Peter the whole roadmap. He gives him the next obedient steps: go downstairs… go with them… don’t hesitate… I sent them. Peter probably wanted the end of the story, but the Spirit simply says, move. Obey first. Don’t worry. Trust me.
That phrase “don’t hesitate” can be translated as “don’t let prejudice keep you from going.” Or don’t be divided in your soul. Peter is immediately asked to put down old judgments and receive who God has made clean. And he does—he goes with them, and he even welcomes them to stay with him.
I wonder what God has been showing you that you won’t fully understand until you obey it. Who has He sent to you that you’re tempted to avoid? What message has God given you to carry to these people? We obey and then we see, not the other way around. So go today without hesitation—remove the prejudice, trust the Sender, and love who God has made clean.
Great job Cory. I pray that the Lord will lead my steps to help others along the way.
