Let It Draw You In

“The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out. And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”

John 12:31–32 (NLT)

When God spoke from heaven, some heard His voice clearly while others only heard thunder. Jesus said that voice wasn’t for Him—it was for them. It was meant to help them believe that the cross would change everything. When Jesus was lifted up, He wasn’t just defeating darkness; He was ending Satan’s rule and drawing people into a new kingdom.

This is why Hebrews 7:27 says, “He did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.”

Jesus’ victory wasn’t partial or temporary. It was final. Satan may still work, but he no longer rules. The only authority he has is what we surrender back.

Through the cross Jesus makes us children of light. His Spirit becomes our lamp, and His Word lights the path beneath our feet. As we follow Him, His light shines through our lives so others can see Him too.

So today, look again at Jesus lifted up. Walk in the freedom He already purchased. The darkness cannot overtake those who choose the light.
